We congratulate Rotarian Raymond West upon his election to the Burleson ISD Sports Hall of Fame. It is a well deserved honor, and the Burleson Rotary Club is proud to have a Hall of Fame inductee among our membership.

March's meeting of the BURRO Board of Directors has been rescheduled. The new date is Wednesday, March 19. The board will meet for breakfast at Our Place (I-35W & Alsbury, next to McDonalds), and the business session begins at 7 a.m.
Rotary celebrated its 105th birthday this week. Four men met to talk about their mutual concerns and desires, and the result was the birth of an organization dedicated to the notion that peace is possible when the peoples of the world understand each other better.
February 23 1905 was a cold winter night, but Paul and Sylvester were used to the cold of Chicago's winters, and after dinner, they walked to the Unity Building to meet two other men in Room 711 of the Unity Building, where the story begins.

ClubRunner gets a [slightly] new look
Several of you have discovered changes in our website since your last login. Some of those changes are due to the diligent work of Adam Russell, who is maintaining our home page. Other changes, however, are attributable to ClubRunner's latest upgrade.
Like all dynamic software, ClubRunner gets a periodic upgrade. The recent changes are mostly "behind the scenes," but some are visible. The latest upgrade has added a "Members Area" link to the upper right corner of the home page. After you log in, click that link to find your way into the database. There, you can do your own personal upgrades -- make changes to your contact information, revise your preferences, and more. Your profile IS up to date, right?
The Rotarian arrives
The latest issue of The Rotarian magazine arrived in my mailbox earlier this week. Did yours?
The first thing I do upon receiving a new issue is to solve the crossword puzzle. This month's puzzle contains a familiar adage about the month of March. You'll recognize it quickly.
I'm always interested in the President's Message, found, as always, on the first page. This month, President Ron discusses a topic related to Rotary's theme for March. Akin to that theme is an article called Do-it-yourself libraries, which tells about a popular project started by a Rotarian. The project is described as "a homespun-tribute-turned-international-phenomenon."
If military service stories intrigue you, be sure to read Burn after reading and discover an amazing set of contributions turned in by a young Army officer during WWII. This officer joined a Rotary club later in his life.
I always read the last page, too. Facts of the Matter is its title. For March, the facts are about libraries.
The Rotarian is a fine resource, and it is educational and entertaining. Spend a little time with it each month, and you will grow as a Rotarian.

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, "Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!"
Miraculously, a parking place appeared.
