Flags for Scholars

The Burleson Rotary Club, through its Flags for Scholars project, provides scholarships for Burleson ISD seniors.  Citizens support this project by subscribing to the project, and in return, Rotarians post United States flags on selected federal holidays at the subscribers' homes or businesses.

Each spring, students are invited to apply for a scholarship. Typically, one applicant is awarded a $5,000 scholarship to a four-year college or university, and additional scholarships are awarded for shorter term higher education programs at colleges or technical institutes.  The exact number of scholarships awarded depends on the profits from the subscriptions.

If you want to apply for a scholarship, ask your school counselor for the application packet.

The Burleson Rotary Club sincerely thanks all its subscribers.  Your generosity has made this project highly successful since its implementation in 1995.

Meals on Wheels

Each Friday, Burleson Rotarians deliver meals as part of the Meals on Wheels of Johnson and Ellis Counties effort to ensure that homebound citizens receive nutritious lunches.  If you want to help in this endeavor, Meals on Wheels welcomes your volunteer service.
